Michael and Debra Clark

Michael and Debra Clark shared a lifelong career in multi-family property management. Starting in the mid 1970’s Debra started as a program coordinator at senior housing property in northern Virginia and Michael was working with a Washington DC consulting firm providing property management training to Indian Housing Authorities across the US. Fast forward 40+ years and the Clark’s were principal owners and partners at Alpha Barnes Real Estate Services, LLC (ABRES) based in Dallas, Texas. ABRES was one of the top 10 affordable housing property managers in the country until late 2021 when the company was sold to Asset Living. Debra had retired in 2012 and Michael retired after the sale of ABRES in 2022. Over the last 10+ years, Michael was involved directly with the residential property management program at UNT through his involvement as a Past President of the Texas Apartment Association and the Texas Apartment Association Education Foundation. He is also an occasional guest instructor in the program. The property management industry has provided a wonderful career and retirement to Debra and Michael, and they have chosen to give back by providing funds that assist students who choose to concentrate on the residential property management program at UNT in paying the expenses of their education. It is their goal that many of the area’s future industry leaders come from this program.
